The Emergency Municipal Service Tax: New for 2008, Emergency and Municipal Services Tax repealed and Local Services Tax enacted. Anyone who works in the Borough is required to pay $52.00 per year. There is a new process for exemption from paying this tax. Anyone who makes less than $12,000 per year may apply for exemption. Exemption forms may be downloaded from the link below.
Real Estate Tax: Berkheimer Associates, a statewide tax collection
firm, collects the Borough Real Estate Taxes. Checks should be made
payable to HAB-RET and mailed to their office: Berkheimer
Associates, P.O. Box 912 Bangor, PA 18013-0912.

1% Earned Income Tax: Anyone who lives or works in the Borough is required to pay this tax. This tax is shared equally with the Kennett Consolidated School District. If you live in a municipality that also has a 1% tax your place of residence takes jurisdiction of the money.
